Yesterday, the Oakland A’s had a contest on Twitter. They were giving out tickets to the July 17 MC Hammer bobblehead day. Two tickets plus two bobbleheads to the first person to correctly respond.
The first question of the day was to take a picture with MC Hammer pants. I didn’t have the right ones and my picture was too late.
Their second one was a little bit easier. Since I knew what time they’d post the tweet (around 5PM), I was ready.
I had set up my account with the proper name and hashtag. But now it was time to respond. I grabbed my camera (luckily I charged it) and went to YouTube to find the video. I don’t know the words to the song except “Can’t touch this!”. So I just shot a short video of me going through that part of the song.
I recorded the video in a very low quality so it uploads quicker. I then quickly went to YouTube, uploaded it in two minutes and tweeted the link.
The video is not pretty, but whatever.
After a while, it was officially confimed that I had won.
Thanks to Twitter and the A’s, I have won two tickets to Sunday’s game. And I can pick up the bobblehead later in the day. And The first 15,000 fans in the door get the bobbleheads. So if my math is correct, this is four bobbleheads from this contest! Oh yeah!!!
This is why I am on Twitter. For cool things like this!
