NBC’s Crisis and their confusing portrayal of Chinese people

I will give them this prop: Chinese people watching Chinese TV. Although I can’t understand why they would hire someone who doesn’t know Chinese to speak Chinese. That sounds like the Cantonese of someone who doesn’t know the language and tried to say something they read off a script. Horrible.

The mom got it. The husband, I don’t know. His English is bad, which is good I guess. But the wife’s English is too perfect. Like that’s the only language she really knows.

What a shame.

Her Chinese is so bad. Her word choice is all wrong.

In another scene, she sends a video telling her son that she loves him. No Chinese parent ever says that.

What did he say? Was that even Chinese?
