I still love the Sharks

What a season. A season that had little expectations ended up being a magical run. What we had was a great chance to see the team and the Bay fall in love with this team again. The hardest championship to win and the Sharks battled all the way to the very end. They just weren’t good enough. But I have hope. I have faith that one day they will win it. One day.

Until that day, I will continue to cheer for my team.

Sharks are going to the Stanley Cup Final!!!!!

I have to figure out how to get to San Jose to catch one of these games. I did this crazy adventure last year with the Warriors. I gotta do it this year for the Sharks!

I’m going to the Stadium Series game

Thanks to a friend who has 49ers season tickets, I got hooked up to go to the game. It’s going to be amazing. I went the one in LA and everything about it was great. I can only imagine that this new one will be just as fun. And since it’s the Sharks, I wonder how they would present it. I wonder which former Shark will drop the puck or what local music artist will perform.

Can’t wait! I’ll be there!

The blog post in which I express my feelings on the Sharks’ elimination from the payoffs

Sigh…

But at the end of the day...

I had only gone to Staples Center once prior and it was also a Sharks-Kings game. Of course, that time the game was in December so it was different and it was three years ago before the Kings became the Kings of hockey. The game tonight was Game 7. It was one of the best seven-game series hockey had to offer in recent years. This was what great hockey was about.

Knowing the Sharks, this season was going to be a struggle and this series wasn’t going to be easy. The Sharks were still trying to find their own identity. But as they tried to do so in this shortened season, they also had to win an important playoff game. It was a tough journey.

I could easily just say that Jonathan Quick was too good, but I won’t. He was good. But the Sharks didn’t challenge him enough…

Waiting for my favorite team to finally win a title

A blog I wrote…

But at the end of the day...

Yesterday I picked up a copy of the LA Times. I read through it. I hated it.

This is the second time in two years that a rival of my favorite team won a championship title. The Kings won the Stanley Cup on Monday and back in 2010, the Giants won the World Series. (I’m a Sharks and A’s fan.)

Since I now live in the Los Angeles area, I am surrounded by all this Kings love. When the Giants won, I was working in San Francisco. And it sucks to see a rival win a title.

Sharks hockey is coming back!

A couple years ago, this game happened. At the time, the Red Wings were the top team (and have been for many years) and that game elevated the Sharks to the top.

It was billed as the game of the year in my opinion.  Two heavyweights battling for the top spot. The game itself had lots of scoring and was a back and forth battle all night long. I remember watching this game and telling myself this is the reason why I love hockey. And for anyone that wants to get into hockey, this is the game to watch.

Now the Sharks are back in action this Saturday to complete a goal they have yet to reach: Stanley Cup champs. It all begins on Saturday and I cannot wait!
