A’s disappoint in postseason again but I’m OK

The game of baseball is fun. You have highs and lows when cheering for a team. But that’s why I love the game. There are no guarantees and there is so much unpredictability. I just witnessed one of the greatest baseball postseason games of all time. Bummed that the A’s lost. But I still love this game.

There are hopes and expectations to this team and the game. But I don’t expect them to owe anything back to me. It’s just a game. There are things out of my control and things I can’t predict.

That’s why I watch. Because you never know what can happen. It’s a result I didn’t like but I knew these things can happen as a fan. We’ll see how next year goes for this team.

I may have unintentionally deceived the Internet with my #RE2PECT tweet

OK, I am pretty proud of my unintentional viral photo.

But at the end of the day...

This didn’t happen. I photoshopped it. It was an idea that popped into my head during Derek Jeter’s last home game. There were discussions of how Jeter had a double that helped start the rally to tie the game at 2-2 in the first inning.

The constant talking about his number and the hashtag #RE2PECT gave me an idea. So I awaited the top of the second inning and looked at the pitch count. Then I awaited for the actual possibility of the influx of 2s to appear. It never happened. But I wanted it to happen. With all this talk of 2s and how everyone is praising Jeter for all the wrong reasons, I opened up my Photoshop, grabbed some screenshots from the game, then just made it myself.

I didn’t think much…

Reading Digest: Everybody Else Went to the Show Edition

What a great list of all the great Simpsons stuff including my blog post of the Hollywood Bowl show.

Itchy and Scratchy - The Movie7

“How was it?” – Bart Simpson
“It wasn’t that great.” – Lisa Simpson
“Be honest.” – Bart Simpson
“It was the greatest movie I’ve ever seen in my life!” – Lisa Simpson

This week we’ve got lots of links to those lucky bastards who got to see the Hollywood Bowl show last week, many of them with cool pictures.  Sure, YouTube is better than nothing, but it’s a poor substitute for the real thing.  In addition to that, we’ve got a bunch of .gifs, Duffman in the big leagues, a couple of disappointing lists, and a huge Sam Simon profile.

Enjoy.

Are you comfortable with being uncomfortable?

One of these things on this watch tells you the time.

Last week, Apple introduced the new Apple Watch. It’s a watch that acts like a smart phone. Except for the calling function, the watch tells time and helps keep track of many things. You can even purchase new things on the Apple Watch, including another Apple Watch. It’s totally unnecessary.

As we progress through technology and all these advances we have in the world, we start to lose a little sense of the way things were. Nobody needs this watch, but we’ve found another shortcut through life with these inventions. Some are great and have helped us improve our living. But at times, our dependency on our own natural skills has diminished.

I think that part of this is why we as a generation find it so hard to do difficult things. Or if you think about it, things seem difficult because we’ve de-sensitized our senses to things. What used to be common and natural has now become alien to us. We’ve lost our discipline because of our distractions.

The Simpsons Take the Bowl at the Hollywood Bowl last night was so amazing

Huge donut!

All of you know that I am a huge fan of The Simpsons. And when I heard about this orchestra performance at the Hollywood Bowl, I knew I had to get there.

For all the photos I took, click here. For all the videos, click here.

I had never been to the bowl before but it was amazing to see all the different little cardboard displays out and about. I was just in my little happy world. The show was an hour away but I spent most of my time looking around at things, collecting buttons and eating this huge donut.

But I think what really made it nice for me was the fact that it was a trip down memory lane, hearing all the songs that I love from the show. And the performances were amazing, including the celebrities that showed up.

#626NightMarket fun with MC Jin and lots of food

Check out my videos here. Check out my photos here.

I had never been to the 626 Night Market before. I just heard about it from time to time but never really made an effort to care. It was only until I heard that MC Jin was going to perform that I realized it would be the perfect place for me to check out the foods and vendors and also watch Jin perform. It was back in 2005 when I first saw Jin perform (my first rap concert if you will) and he was dope. But as I got to follow his career, gotten to know him, meet him and just see him grow, I like where he’s headed to now.

When I got to the market, I was overwhelmed by the vendors and shops. They had a lot of cool artwork. I almost bought some stuff but maintained to my spending to food.

Stinky tofu? Yes! I got it! Also, check out this.

The pineapple cake preview

Remember when I said I had some story ideas? Well, I realized that I may never write these as a book, but a short story isn’t out of the question.

I decided to take one of the ideas and start to write it. I am not sure where it goes and how long it takes. I have never written anything of this magnitude before, especially as a fiction story.

But who knows? Maybe it will turn out OK. Here’s a sneak preview of what I have so far:

I attended the Stand Up To Cancer event last night and it was great

As part of me being awesome, I have access to be a seatfiller in certain events in Hollywood. For last night’s Stand Up To Cancer event in Hollywood, I attended the event to fill in seats throughout the theater to make sure that the place looked filled for the event. It was really cool to dress up, be part of a great event and check out the entire thing for free.

I arrived there at the earliest check-in time possible at 2PM. Because I was there early, they would put me in the first group of fillers, which is usually the front. After standing and waiting, we got in at about 4:45, which is 15 minutes before the live broadcast. I got in my seat and really took in the entire event.

I was really close so I got to see the entire show right up and personal. The rest of the world watched live with me. Check out the above video.
